Giving Is Receiving

During the holidays, we spend a good amout of time thinking of what we can get people, how we can give to people, and how we can connect with people. It is such an uplfting, high vibration time of year, and it feels so good. The traditions are so much less important than the people we share them with. Sometimes we even need to move the holiday itself just to make sure it works on everyone’s schedule in order to gather our loved ones near to us. Families in which the kids go back and forth to their separated parents, need to create a working schedule toward a true holiday sharing. It may even mean giving up a little of what both sides want in order to make the time to celebrate with their children. Families with military members who are away serving the country, work to have a holiday visit when or where or however it works, as long as it happens. Making that effort with a positive attitude, even if it means compromising, is the gift itself. And with all the Facetiming, Zooming, and video calling now, we only need to make the effort to connect, and we can. How lucky we are that all of those ways to connect are available!

In the end, what makes the season “Merry” and the year “Happy” is the whole-hearted giving of a little effort and thoughtfulness to exchange love. And isn’t that really the best gift to receive?

    1. So true. Love Is our Divine Oneness. Reminding ourselves for our peace is the only real challenge.
