Recently I’ve learned of a few women who just lost their husbands after having a lifetime together and were experiencing that deep grief I knew too well. They spoke to different friends of mine who had loaned them my book to give them comfort about signs from the other side. (You Don’t Know Jack!: Antics from My Late Husband’s Spirit Give Undeniable Evidence of Afterlife. ) My goal in writing this book was exactly that…to give comfort to those who lost a loved one. My message was and is, we don’t really lose them. They don’t just evaporate. Their spirit energy is still around complete with their essence, which, for me, was often recognizable by his unique sense of humor.
I’ve since learned of their reactions to my book and they are varied. Two of them thanked me for my sharing experiences that validate their belief in the same thing. They also shared their own emotional stories and signs that were hard-to-deny for their equally extreme “coincidences.” One widow was sad because she felt her late husband had not given her signs like mine had. It made her wonder if he didn’t want to try or didn’t love her enough. Those words made me feel as though I was having the opposite impact from what I had hoped, and I questioned whether my book could have that sad effect on others.
Shortly thereafter, I spoke with Gail, my medium. (GailandSpirit.com) During our session, I asked her to ask my late husband if I should stop giving the book out to new widows. She said his answer came back swift and strong. She/He said our path was different from most since we had had time to plan our communications before he transitioned from later across the veil. We were specific and clear and were able to follow through once he passed. He said that not everyone has had that certainty, and not everyone has had the awareness of what signs are even possible. All my/our book does is open the door to those possibilities and, hopefully, open their minds. We are therefore only planting seeds, and I can live with that.
