My late husband (Jack) and I met each other on Sweetest Day in Ohio in 1967 at a college “Tea.” We knew right away that we were meant to be together, and we were for the next 54 years until he passed. The grief has been quite the challenge, as any widow of a lifelong partner can attest to, but his signs and messages from the other side have been so comforting, including those of today. I was hoping our anniversary would cause his spirit to remind me his energy was still around, and he was clever as usual.
The first one may sound strange, but he always had quite the sense of humor and still does. On several occasions, I have had unusual moth experiences where they stay with me for hours, even when I move around inside or outside. I had one even land on my outstretched hand after circling me for quite a while. (I wrote about it in my book, You Don’t Know Jack!) This morning I found a moth right outside my door in my path, laughing again that others get a butterfly, and I get a moth…so him!
Also this morning, I received a text from a relative who was having an unexplainable issue with blinking decorative lights, suspecting my late husband’s spirit was the culprit. It finally stopped – also with no explanation. And the days around her recent birthday, she had a computer anomaly which also felt like his giving her a sign, especially since it was a picture of him from high school that popped up on her computer. We don’t text often, but her text to tell me his energy was around was comforting, and on a day I hoped to hear from him.
Then, this afternoon, my friend called to say she saw a white feather…her symbol for my late husband telling her to call me. Her timing has always been so right on. She had no idea it was the day we met, and that I was hoping to hear from him, or about him. My friend says whenever she finds a white feather in an unusual place grabbing her attention, she always says to him, “Okay, okay, Jack, I’ll call her!” And, when she does, it’s on a meaningful day every time.
I will always say that I have no idea how it all works from the other side, but I’ll always be open to the way multiple coincidences seem to have perfect timing!
(Happy anniversary of our Sweetest Day to you, Jack.)
