Chance and Readiness

Louis Pasteur once said, “Chance favors the prepared mind.” My late husband used to repeat that quote to all of his students to encourage them to educate themselves so that they’d be ready if lucky opportunities arrived. I have also embraced that thought completely, and I have included it in my book about him and his messages from the other side. We were both open to the notion that our consciousness was eternal, believing our soul energy would continue on after the physical experience. That belief set us up to plan ahead to the dreaded day that one of us would pass before the other. We told each other how we would send signs if it was at all possible. After he passed, he kept his word and sent me so many unquestionable signs. I felt so lucky that we had prepared for those possible communications.

Fast forward through my first year as a widow, I collected several journal’s worth of those amazing stories and decided to write a book about them. It took a few months, a lot of tears and joy intermingled, but it is now complete. And, just as I completed it, a friend called me up to give me a publisher’s name and website she thought would be a perfect match for my story. Thank goodness I was ready right when such a perfect opportunity was delivered. I spoke with the publisher and she liked my book idea about being open to signs from our loved ones from the other side. I submitted the manuscript, and it was accepted. I am beyond thrilled now that I will be able to be the voice for both of us to help others have that “prepared mind.”
