…Or Was It?

In my last post, I denied that a live frog in my kitchen, beeping on the stove sensors, was a sign from my late husband. It seemed that because there was an explanation for the beeps, it wasn’t a sign. Well, I’ve since had several people respond to that post telling me they felt it was a sign…knowing the antics of my late husband, Jack, and our decades together with frog jokes and frog decorations. So I started to open up to the possibility.

Let me give a little history here. Early in our 54 years together, he had given me a gift of a pair of outdoor cement frogs that leaned into each other. He said the big frog was the cool guy, and the girl frog was sitting up but leaning against him so he’d have her back and protect her. The funny part was whenever I’d find the “girl frog” on her head or upside down, it was always after we’d had a disagreement.

I’d know it was his sense of humor, which always broke the tension, lightened the moment, and made me laugh. In fact, he had bought me several decorative frogs over the years knowing I collected them, and then he used them to “send me messages”. So him.
