A Kick in the Fob

I should have noticed that the battery in the car key fob was failing, but I didn’t. I went to unlock the car door to put my in my groceries after shopping one day, and nothing happened. The doors did not unlock, so I thought I wasn’t physically close enough to the car. I moved closer, tried again, and the doors unlocked… but after a little pause. The next day, running a little late for an appointment, I got in the car and attempted to start it, but it didn’t start. My face flushed as I feared the car battery was dead, and I tried it again. This time, after a mini hesitation, it started. I figured now I’d be driving for awhile and therefore it would charge up the battery by doing so.

I pulled out of the garage and was on my way to the doctor’s appointment, happy I wasn’t late, but after a few minutes came the “uh, oh.” I immediately thought about whether it was the car fob that didn’t have enough battery energy to start, and not the car battery. I got scared it would fail to start the car after my appointment was over. Panic set in. (And I’m sure you can imagine how high my blood pressure was at that appointment!) I said a little prayer, and asked my late husband Jack if he could please, please please help me. Afterall, so many signs using energy had been happening ever since he passed two years ago. I prayed all through the appointment, came out to the car, begged one more time, and pushed the “Start” button. Without any hesitation, it started right up.

When I got home and got out of the car, the fob had no more “juice” left. It couldn’t even lock the car. Remembering I had a spare key fob, I went inside the house, grabbed it and went back out to the car. The backup key fob worked strong every time.

I put a new battery in the dead key fob, and thanked Jack over and over. I’d like to think his spirit gave off a lttle kick of energy… just enough to get me home.
