You Don’t Know Jack!

My book cover is done, and I love it! My book is now suddenly becoming really real with a final cover, even though we have a way to go to bring it into a printed form to hold in the hand. That will happen on 12/12/23, the same date as my husband’s passing in 2021. The date of the book release will celebrate his “soul’s release.” I feel like I’m keeping his memory alive as well as his legacy…his quick sense of humor. The book was carthartic for me to write, and hopefully will be comforting to read since “our” message is one that demonstrates how consciousness continues into the afterlife. It’s so reassuring.

This front cover design was such an interesting part of the publishing process. I was fascinated to watch how my mental vision came to life. My friend had worked to create several mock-ups using my vision and my favorite photograph. Then I sent all of that to my publisher, Lucie Dickenson, from Starlight Books Publishing. Then Lucie took lengthy notes with my wishes and relayed it all perfectly to her graphic artist. Miraculously enough, my exact vision manifested flawlessly through this whole chain of people. What a wonderful collaboration! And it only took one revision from the original draft. I also have to admit, though, I think Jack had a hand in moving that along, too, but we just don’t know what he’s capable of now!
